P90X Advice: Keeping a Workout Log
Previously on the Finish Well Fitness Blog, we talked about the idea of keeping a journal to document your P90X journey or, alternatively, photo documenting it. We can, however, understand why you may shy away from either of those ideas. After all, if you’re doing P90X or P90X Plus, you’re already devoting a huge amount of time to your P90X workout and P90X nutrition plans. The idea of doing something time consuming like a journal or photo-documentation may seem like just too much extra effort. If that’s the case, we recommend that you keep a workout log. It’s quick, and it accomplishes lots of the same goals. Read the rest of this entry »
P90X Advice: Protecting Your Joints
P90X isn’t like any other workout program in that it’s the most extreme home fitness program ever and also that it combines elements of nutrition into its ninety-day plan. However, P90X is exactly like all other workout plans in that, if you don’t take the extra effort to protect them, you’ll potentially do damage to your joints. This is just the name of the game with any fitness program. You’re putting stress on your joints, and therefore you need to be aware of the risk of injury. However, before you use that as a reason to not begin P90X, remember that carrying around extra weight or having bad posture puts your joints at just as much risk, and P90X will eliminate you from both of those categories. Here are some tips for protecting your joints when you workout with P90X! Read the rest of this entry »
P90X Advice: Strengthening Your Hands
There are many things that you can do in order to make your P90X experience more productive and yield better results. One of the more surprising ones, however, would be to strengthen your hands. Throughout the P90X workouts, you’ll be doing lots of exercises that require you to keep a grip, from chin-ups to pull-ups. You’ll also be using the P90X resistance bands, and while the P90X resistance band handles can help you keep a firmer grip and make exercising more fluid and with better results, strength in your hands is ultimately the best thing for an overall effective workout. Here are some tips on making your hands and your grip stronger. Read the rest of this entry »
P90X Advice: Ways to Correct Your Posture
We’ve previously discussed on the Finish Well Fitness blog how important it is to workout with good posture, particularly when doing a workout that emphasizes strength training and isometric exercises like P90X does. Here are some tips on improving your posture for both daily and workout improvements! Read the rest of this entry »
P90X Advice: Missing Workouts
If you’re currently doing P90X, or if you’re right now reading up on some P90X reviews in order to decide if you want to step up to the challenge of extreme home fitness, then you’re aware of the time commitment that’s required with P90X. You’ll be on a six-day on, one-day off schedule for the bulk of the three months that the program runs. In addition to a person who wants to get into fantastic shape, you are probably also a realist who knows that it is unlikely that you will go that entire time without missing a workout. So what should you do if you miss a workout? Or even two? Read the rest of this entry »
P90X Results: Lunchtime Activity Rule
If you’re doing P90X, then the last thing that you want to hear is somebody saying that you should sneak some extra exercise in. However, that’s exactly what we’re about to do. No, we’re not going to tell you to take your P90X Chin Up Bar to work with you and rip out twenty at your lunch hour! However, what we are going to tell you is that, particularly if you have an office job where you spend the large majority of the day seated at your desk, adding some light to moderate activity to your lunch hour, even while doing P90X or P90X Plus, can have an impact that improves your P90X results exponentially. P90X Advice: Is Workout Addiction Real?
With anything good, there can always be bad. Or, if you like Eastern wisdom, with the ying must come the yang! You’ll lose weight, become stronger, learn to eat better with the P90X nutrition plan, transform your body and your mindset and, most importantly, get healthier. However, as with anything worth having, there may be a few risks. Certainly, one minor risk with P90X or any other workout program that you incorporate into your life is injury. Best Workout Songs of All Time
We all know that music can make a difference in how we workout. P90X Review: Morning or Evening Workouts
For most people, the question of whether to workout in the morning or the evening is one of the most important ones. Is it true that you’ll lose more weight if you workout in the morning and boost your metabolism for the day, or will it be better to workout in the evening and burn off all of your calories from the day? P90X workouts are on the longer side (you need to have at least an hour free per day for them), so getting them integrated into your busy life can sometimes be a challenge. You don’t want to be inefficient and workout at a time when you know that you won’t get optimal results. Read the rest of this entry »
