Get yourself into shape to be a power tennis player through the strength training elements of P90X!

As anybody who either plays or watches the sport of tennis knows, over the last decade the game has become increasingly athletic in nature. Being able to volley and strategically place the ball in the court is still as important as ever, but players like Nadal and the Williams sisters have made the power serve and the power baseline stroke (as well as the volley smash) critical elements of the game that require significant strength (not to mention agility). If you’re looking to improve your game and become a stronger, more powerful tennis player, P90X has benefits to tennis players that can result in significant improvements to your strength game.

Arm and Back Strength: Obviously, the most important element to getting your power swing going is arm and back strength. P90X will improve your arm and back strength through focused workouts specifically on those areas that use proven P90X tools like the P90X resistance bands and P90X push up stands to develop and tone lean muscle in your arms and back. From bigger biceps to tighter triceps and a more developed back, your upper body will gain the strength it needs to slam that little green ball at your opponent.

Leg Strength: Of course, anybody who’s ever swung a tennis racket knows that much of the power of the swing comes from your base, the planting and torque of your legs. The leg training workouts of P90X, along with the plyometrics (jump training) and Kenpo X (martial arts) workouts will help you gain the leg strength that you need to turn into your swing and put that extra power on the ball.

Flexibility: Finally, to get the complete range of motion that you’ll need in order to fully power the tennis racket through its maximum range of swing and get the most power on the ball, you’ll need flexibility. Stretch X and Yoga X will get you there!

Tennis is still a skill game, but exemplary players can bring the power game as well. Get yourself into shape to be a power tennis player through the strength training elements of P90X! You’ll also improve core strength and cardio endurance as well, and the end result will be a far superior tennis game to the one that you have now!

Being a competitive golfer requires both skill and strength. P90X can’t help you with the skill, but it can give you the strength that you need to improve your game.

Golf is one of America’s most beloved sports, both on a spectator and participant level. Even before America’s now most infamous golfer made the sport into the media darling event that it is today, golfers like Phil Mickelson and Jack Nicklaus made casual golfers everywhere envious of their perfect swings and seemingly endless power and precision. Whether it’s your competitive nature or your love of a day spent outdoors perfecting a skill that draws you to golf, everybody wants to be a better golfer. One way to achieve that goal is by getting into amazing shape. And, of course, P90X can get you into shape with some benefits that are unique to golfers.

Core Strength: Without a doubt, core strength is one of the most important elements to successfully being able to twist through your swing while also controlling it. Through Core Synergistics, Yoga X and Ab Ripper X, P90X will strengthen your core. We know it’s easy to hide a soft middle underneath a golf shirt, but without a strong core, your swing will suffer.

Arm and Back Strength: Just as important as core strength is the strength in your arms and, particularly, your back when it comes to driving a ball down long fairways. With the P90X arm and back workouts, as well as the key P90X tools of the P90X Push Up Stands and P90X Chin Up Bar, you’ll gain strength in your arms and back that will result in greater ease on long drives (assuming you’ve also got a smooth swing going!).

Leg Strength: Anybody who’s ever golfed knows that your swing requires immense strength in your legs both for control and stability. In addition to its pure leg strength exercises, P90X will sculpt your legs with Kenpo X and Plyometrics workouts that will leave you with a stronger and more controlled base for your swings and puts.

Flexibility: Golfers also need flexibility to capture the full range of motion on a swing. Yoga X and X Stretch in the P90X workouts will improve your flexibility and thus the range of your swing.

We all know that golf isn’t just about a cooler of beer on a golf cart. Being a competitive golfer requires both skill and strength. P90X can’t help you with the skill, but it can give you the strength that you need to improve your game.

There’s no level of baseball player who can’t benefit from the P90X workout program (as well as the nutrition program).

America’s favorite pastime is in full swing. Around the country, summer evenings are ending with local baseball games and families and friends alike are enjoying regular trips to the MLB ballpark. As baseball cleans itself up from its recent steroid scandals, it’s more important than ever that baseball players get their edge from good solid workout and nutrition programs like P90X. In fact, P90X is such a good conditioning routine for baseball players that it’s endorsed by Barry Zito and Jo Jo Reyes. Here are just a few of the reasons that P90X is an ideal workout plan for those who love the pinewood.

Upper Body Strength: Whether you’re throwing, catching or swinging the bat, baseball revolves around upper body strength. P90X has workouts that focus on your biceps and chest as well as your triceps and back, and it also has all of the tools that you’ll need in order to do those exercises with perfect form, including the P90X Chin Up Bar and the P90X Push Up Stands. Every baseball player always needs to work on improving upper body strength, and P90X will take you to the max.

Flexibility: Stretching your batting stance, reaching beyond your limits to catch a ball or extending just that extra inch to get safely on base all require significant flexibility. Through X Stretch and Yoga X, P90X will improve your flexibility to meet all of those flexibility requirements and more. Plus, the better your flexibility, the less likely you are to get injured.

Core Strength: Baseball players need a strong core in order to powerfully turn through their swing. Ab Ribber X, Yoga X and Core Synergistics are all P90X workouts that will leave you with a powerful (and ripped) core.

Cardio Ability: Let’s be honest, during much of a baseball game you won’t be elevating your heart rate. However, you’ll need to have excellent cardio stamina for the moments when you need to sprint for a ball or a base. Through Cardio X, Plyometrics and Kenpo X, P90X will significantly improve your short twitch response and cardio endurance.

There’s no level of baseball player who can’t benefit from the P90X workout program (as well as the nutrition program). Improve your game today by improving your overall fitness level with P90X!

Get in shape with P90X and watch your board performance improve as you do!

Alternative or X-Sports have never been more popular in America than they are today. Skateboarding, in particular, has gone from being a recreational activity that bored teenage boys do to a competitive sport for both genders in which athletes accomplish feats on both half pipes and stylized courses that we could have never imagined previously. It can feel like watching an animation or a video game, but these are highly optimized athletes performing dangerous and challenging feats of physicality. How do you become the best competitive skateboarder possible? Well, of course the answer is practice. However, for an extreme sport like skateboarding, and extreme home workout like P90X has many benefits as well.

Core Strength: Skateboarding requires exceptional abdominal and core strength in order to keep from falling and control the skateboard through both large and small maneuvers. P90X works the abdominals in every routine, but it particularly focuses on them in Yoga X, Ab Ripper X and Core Synergistics. P90X is designed to have you end the ninety days with a six pack and a firm core, which you’ll need in order to twist, jump and turn the skateboard precisely.

Lower Body Strength: In order to position yourself on the skateboard and, again, to control the skateboard, you’ll need strong and flexible legs, period. P90X has strength workouts dedicated to nothing but developing your leg strength, and it also features a plyometrics, or jump training, workout that strengthens legs while adding flexibility and explosive reaction time (which is good for skateboarding with its speedy nature). Not to mention Kenpo X, which features martial arts kicking exercises.

Balance: With P90X, you’ll gain balance through every workout, but particularly in the Yoga X workouts that utilize the P90X yoga blocks. If you can’t balance on the skateboard, then your pro skateboarding career will be short lived.

Whether you’re hoping to become competitive or just want to be the coolest guy (or gal) at the skate park, P90X and its follow-up P90X Plus can get you the physical elements that you need to get there. What we know for sure is that P90X will get you into the best shape of your life, and that will make you better at any athletic activity that you undertake. So get in shape with P90X and watch your board performance improve as you do!

If your end goal is to complete one of the craziest, hardest, most fun while also challenging and, yes, extreme adventure races in North America, P90X can get you there.

People who undertake the P90X challenge have one thing in common: They are choosing extreme home fitness, and once they’ve mastered the challenge they are in ripped up, incredibly amazing shape. They’ve also, usually, become a little bit extreme themselves and ready to take on new challenges. In our never ending quest to find new ways for you to show off your great new, post-P90X body as well as to give you a reason to get that body and, as a bonus, a way to master a new challenge after you’ve brought out your inner-extreme athlete, we’re going to discuss how P90X can help you master the Spartan Race.

What is the Spartan Race?

The Spartan Race is a new adventure race that’s sweeping the country. Modeled after the training of the ancient Spartans, the race is a five kilometer obstacle course that combines cross country running with boot-camp like activities such as crawling in mud under barbed wire, rock climbing, hurdles, fire hurdles, climbing over a wall, water obstacles and rope scaling. Both men and women participate, and you’ll even see some costumes during the race. One thing that’s certain is that when you watch participants cross the finish line, they look exhausted. But they also look proud of their accomplishment.

How Can P90X Prepare You for the Spartan Race?

To complete and master the Spartan Race, you’ll need three things. Great cardio endurance for running, great lower and upper body strength for the obstacles and mental toughness. P90X and its follow-up, P90X Plus, get you all of those things. Through workouts like Cardio X, Plyometrics and Kenpo X, you’ll develop the cardio endurance you’ll need for a challenging cross-country run. P90X workouts are heavily focused on upper body strength training, which will leave you primed for rope climbing, wall climbing and pulling your body along through the crawling challenges. We particularly recommend focusing on the P90X chin-up workouts (you may want to get a P90X Chin Up Bar if you don’t have a place to do chin-ups in your home). Finally, if you can muster the mental toughness to complete P90X, you can certainly muster the mental toughness for the Spartan Race.

So, if your end goal is to complete one of the craziest, hardest, most fun while also challenging and, yes, extreme adventure races in North America, P90X can get you there. In fact, making the Spartan Race your end goal for P90X may just help motivate you through the ninety days of challenging workouts!

Get out your summer P90X tank top and hit the beach. Not only will you be better on your board, you’ll look better in your wetsuit as well!

It’s the heart of summer, and the heat wave finally hit! If you’re lucky enough to live somewhere with an ocean coast, that means that you either got to enjoy the view of masses of fit, tan surfers hitting the waves or, better yet, you got to join them in their enjoyment of the ultimate summer pastime. Whether you are a surfer, aspire to be a surfer or just want to look like a surfer, P90X is the ideal workout for surfing fitness. After all, there’s a reason that P90X is used and endorsed by champion professional surfer Kelly Slater. It’s because the nature of the workout gives surfers advantages in areas that they need.

Core Strength: Surfing requires exceptional abdominal and core strength in order to maintain an upright position, balance and control the board. P90X works your abdominals in every routine, but particularly focuses on them in Yoga X, Ab Ripper X and Core Synergistics. P90X is designed to have you end the ninety days with a six pack and a firm core, just what you’ll need to control that long board (and look great on the beach).

Lower Body Strength: In order to position yourself on the board and, again, to control the board, you’ll need quads of steel and calves that don’t budge. You’ll also need a dose of flexibility thrown in there! P90X has strength workouts dedicated to nothing but developing your leg strength, and it also features a plyometrics, or jump training, workout that strengthens legs while adding flexibility. Not to mention Kenpo X, which features martial arts kicking exercises.

Balance: With P90X, you’ll gain balance through every workout, but particularly in the Yoga X workouts that utilize the P90X yoga blocks. If you can’t balance on the board, then your surf career will be short lived. However, the better your balance skills are, the more likely you are to stay on the wave.

While those benefits are specific to surfers, the long and short of it is that P90X puts you in the best shape of your life, and that makes you better at any sport. So get out your summer P90X tank top and hit the beach. Not only will you be better on your board, you’ll look better in your wetsuit as well!

With fall just around the corner and cheerleading camps across the nation about to start, we though we’d point out how incorporating the P90X program into their fitness routine can help a competitive cheerleader become an even better competitive cheerleader!

Over the years, cheerleading has gone from being just girls in skirts cheering on their male counterpart athletes to a competitive sport in its own right that involves both young men and young women. We’ve all seen “Bring It On”, and chances are great that even if you haven’t seen that movie (or won’t admit that you’ve seen that movie), you’ve kept the channel on when the National Cheerleading Championships are on ESPN. Cheerleading the current day and age requires a level of strength, flexibility and commitment that matches that of any other competitive sport (and in some cases exceeds it). With fall just around the corner and cheerleading camps across the nation about to start, we though we’d point out how incorporating the P90X program into their fitness routine can help a competitive cheerleader become an even better competitive cheerleader!

Build Strength: P90X above all else helps you to tone muscle and build strength. Yes, we know! We’ve seen cheerleaders! You are fit, but P90X will focus on exercises and strength moves using tools like the P90X resistance bands and P90X push up stands that will help you build even more body strength as well as work and develop muscles that you may not focus on in your daily workouts typically.

Improve Flexibility: Can’t get your foot over your head exactly as far as you’d like? The P90X Yoga X and X Stretch workouts will help you improve your flexibility so that you can have the highest kick of the bunch. You may even want to make elements of these workouts part of your daily routine.

Improve Endurance: P90X is a challenging workout no matter what your level of fitness, and completing it is sure to improve your endurance. Between the challenging cardio routines, the exhausting strength routines and the focused stretching, you’ll gain endurance so that you can cheer through a hundred overtimes if you need to.

Become Stronger Overall: The real point, however, is that athletes are at their best when their bodies are at their best, and P90X will make you stronger overall so that you’re exactly that … your best.

P90X is a ninety-day program, so if you start now you’ll be wrapping up just in time for the fall cheer season. You can also use the P90X workouts individually during the season to augment your normal cheer training. Go! P90X! Win!

Here are the key benefits of the P90X program for soccer players.

It’s a soccer time of year. The World Cup is heading into its final big week, and, simultaneously, kids across the nation are getting ready for fall soccer season in school. Can P90X make a good soccer player into a great soccer player and a great soccer player into the next World Cup goal scorer? Maybe not! However, including P90X in your regimen before soccer season starts or during your fall soccer training can make you a better soccer player. Here are the key benefits of the P90X program for soccer players.

Improved Upper Body Strength: Soccer is primarily a lower body sport, and you can tell that by looking at the legs or core area of any serious soccer player! However, because that lower body and core strength is so important, often soccer players neglect balancing their workouts with arms, chest and back workouts. Incorporating P90X into your workout plan, including some push-ups which you can certainly perfect with the P90X Push Up Stands, you’ll have a stronger overall body. This, of course, will make you a stronger overall athlete.

Improved Flexibility: We’ve all seen the amazing moves that soccer players from goalies to forwards must make, and we know that soccer requires a high degree of flexibility. P90X can improve your flexibility, particularly with Yoga X (made even more challenging with some P90X Yoga Blocks) and X Stretch. We’re sure that, if you’re playing soccer, flexibility training is already a key component of your program. However, P90X can give you new exercises and ways to push yourself that will improve your flexibility.

Workout Variation: If you’re concerned about potentially hitting a workout plateau through the repetitiveness of soccer training, throw the P90X workouts into the mix. Experiencing different exercises, pacing and movements will cause muscle confusion, which will take you to a new level of fitness.

Overall Improved Fitness Level: The real message here is, however, that P90X is a professional athlete level workout system that will get you into the best shape of your life, no matter what fitness level you’re starting at. The strength, cardio, flexibility and even mental training that come with the P90X program is second to none. You’ll get into the best shape of your life, and that will make you a better overall athlete.

If you’re already in a soccer training program, don’t try to do P90X in ninety consecutive days. Break up the workouts and use them in a time and pace that makes sense to you. But do use them! There’s a reason why professional athletes like Barry Zito, Brett Favre and Kelly Slater all use P90X! It’s because it makes athletes into stronger, better athletes.

Ray Lewis, David Akers, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, and the old guy himself Brett Favre all use P90X as part of their workout routines. So why is P90X so good for getting you into football playing shape?

It’s almost time. In just a few short weeks, high school and college football camps will begin. For that matter, NFL players will start to report for training. However, for most football players, it’s time to start getting into shape for the season now. P90X is a perfect solution for getting into the best football shape of your athletic life, whether you’re playing with your friends in a rec league or competitively on high school or college team. In fact, a significant number of current and past NFL players including Emmit Smith, Ray Lewis, David Akers, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, and the old guy himself Brett Favre all use P90X as part of their workout routines. So why is P90X so good for getting you into football playing shape?

Full Body Workout: No matter what position you play, football is a full body, full contact sport. P90X focuses as much on your lower body through not only leg strength workouts by also the plyometrics workout as it does through its many upper body workouts. The P90X system puts your entire body into shape, which is key if you’re playing a sport that requires that you be strong all over.

Flexibility Training: Football is such a completely athletic endeavor that you need to have fantastic flexibility to be competitive. Think how many traditional football drills are about developing flexibility and how many professional football players have used dance training to improve flexibility. Yoga X, X Stretch and Kenpo X all improve flexibility. Get out your P90X yoga mat and P90X yoga block and you’ll see improved skills and maneuvers on the field by fall!

Nutrition Plan: In a world of fast food (which you should NOT be eating if you’re an athlete!), P90X not only teaches you about proper nutrition to fuel your workout and your athletic activities but also about the right supplements to take not only to create body fuel but also to recover. You can get it all simply with the P90X Peak Results Package.

Plataea Ripping: If you’ve been involved in football training camps for many years, you’re probably experiencing a bit of a workout plateau from doing the same exercises over and over again. P90X will help you get past your plateau with new workouts, new intensity levels and new ways of testing your body.

There’s a reason so many past and present NFL players use P90X. It’s because the well-balanced but also very challenging workout is perfect for full body, high contact, speed-intense sports like football. If you’re looking to get an edge for the upcoming season, look no further than P90X.

Who are the professional athletes who are on record as using Tony Horton’s P90X to optimize their athletic performance?

How hard core is P90X? It’s so hard core that dozens of professional athletes, both active and retired, incorporate it into their fitness routine. If there’s one thing that we know for sure, it’s that somebody who makes their living playing sports, or who dedicated their life to playing sports and are now looking for a workout as intense as the ones they used when they were professional athletes, isn’t going to pick a workout that doesn’t yield amazing results while pushing limits. Who are the professional athletes who are on record as using Tony Horton’s P90X to optimize their athletic performance?

Emmit Smith, Ray Lewis, David Akers, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Brett Favre: That’s right. All of those hardcore, NFL players we just listed? They all use P90X workouts as part of their off and in-season workout plan. Our statement? Anything that Brett Favre does to workout must be the right workout, because we’ve never known any other forty-year old (or older now!) who can athletically accomplish what that man can! NFL athletes are some of the toughest around, so if they endorse a workout, it must be designed to get you into fighting shape.

Matt Diaz, Barry Zito, Jo Jo Reyes: The MLB represents with three of its premier players endorsing and using P90X. Obviously, baseball players need to have great flexibility and amazing arm strength, both of which are two of the best elements of P90X.

Kenny Smith, Ray Allen, John Salley: Three key NBA players also have come out to trumpet P90X and its amazing results. The plyometrics workout in particular is great for jump heavy sports like basketball and the athletes who play them.

Kelly Slater: Let’s be honest. Who doesn’t want to look like professional surfer Kelly Slater (or, for that matter, to be lucky enough to date the famous Hollywood ladies who he’s dated?). Slater is an avowed user of P90X workouts, and it shows in both his physique and his championship level surfing.

You don’t need to be a professional athlete to get the same amazing results from P90X though. Optimize your chances to look and feel like a pro athlete with the best of the P90X workout products in the P90X Peak Results Package. Dedicate yourself and really stick to the workout and nutrition plans of P90X. You’ll see. Barry Zito and Ray Allen will probably still be able to strike you out or dunk on you, but they’ll have nothing on you in terms of being healthy and having an amazing body!
