The P90X Seven Day Schedule
What we at Finish Well Fitness never want is for any of you to fail at your workout goals. With that in mind, we think it’s important to get into the right mindset for the type of schedule that you’ll need to keep in order to complete the P90X workout. It’s better to go into it understanding the level of commitment that you’ll need than it is to start it and then become frustrated.
Firstly, keep in mind that the reason that P90X is so challenging is because it gives you incredible results. You will lose weight, tone up and get into shape in a way that you’ve always wanted. But like anything that yields great results, the P90X means that you’ll need to exhibit commitment and dedication.
P90X operates on a seven-day schedule. You’ll need to be able to work out on six consecutive days, and the seventh day is a rest day. Each workout is almost an hour long, and three of the six days involve weight training. That hour long workout includes a warm up and a cool down. Even with the warm up and cool down included in the workout, you’ll still need to have time in your day for the workout, as well as getting ready beforehand and showering after.
And this is a three-month commitment to working out six days a week.
If you’re reading this right now and thinking “That just will not work for me. I don’t have that kind of time or dedication,” then you may want to consider some other workouts that aren’t as time intensive. We’d recommend the 10 Minute Trainer or Power Half Hour. But before you decide that the schedule involved with P90X is too intense for you, let us give you some reasons why it may not actually be!
The first days on P90X will be hard. Ok, in truth, they will all be hard! What you’ll find is that, after you get through the first several weeks, you’ll start feeling so good about yourself and your health that you’ll start looking forward to the time that you spend working out. We wouldn’t be surprised if six hours a week isn’t enough for you!
Saying that you “don’t have time” to work out is probably just not accurate. We bet there are at least a couple of hours during the day where you’re watching television or hanging out with your friends that could better be spent taking control of your health and wellness.
Finally, and most importantly, anything that gets you what you want is usually hard! If being in great shape were easy, everybody would look like a model. Every minute that you spend doing P90X or any other workout is a minute that you’re improving your health for the rest of your life and making today a better day. Make the commitment and get started now!
