Tips for Women Using P90X
Gaining muscle can be a different – sometimes more difficult – task for women than for men. First of all, while women almost all want that toned look, most women don’t want to bulk up the same way that men do. And secondly, women’s bodies are just built differently than men’s are. That doesn’t mean that P90X can’t be a girl’s best friend for creating a toned, beautiful body. Just keep a couple of the tips below in mind!
Only Lift What You’re Comfortable With
Women don’t carry as much upper body strength as men, so you should only lift as much weight as you’re comfortable with. If that’s only a three pound weight, then that’s just fine! As you continue doing the workout, you’ll get stronger and increase the weight that you’re using. But don’t get discouraged if your weights are light to start with.
Don’t Forget to Eat
Many women (maybe even you!) are going to do this workout in order to lose weight (or, really, tighten up your body). This is the testimony that we hear a lot of in our P90X Reviews. That’s great, but it’s important that you remember to eat, too. Don’t fall into the trap of trying to get smaller by working out and suddenly eating much less than you normally would. Your body needs ample nutrition and fuel to have enough energy to do the workout and recover afterwards. If you’re not eating enough (and eating good, healthy food) your metabolism will slow down, you’ll end up burning muscle for energy, and you won’t see the real benefits of the workout. Eat better, but don’t eat too little! You may want to consider P90X Protein Bars as a way to make sure you’re getting enough protein, and also refer to the P90X Nutrition Guide thoroughly.
The Scale is NOT Your Friend
What’s the end game here? The end game is that you have a sleek, sexy, toned body. The end game is not a number on a scale. As you’re completing the P90X program, you’ll go through different phases and changes with your weight. You may retain water for a while as your body and muscles get used to the workout. Even after that, though your body is getting smaller, your number on the scale may not drop (because, remember, muscle weighs more than fat). If you make your goal about a number on a scale, we assure that you’ll get frustrated! Make your goal about your overall health and fitness. Ultimately, the results that are returned on the P90X Workout are those of a lean, mean, toned-up body and loss of body fat. But again – be careful not to lean so heavily on your weight.
Women always face different challenges when working out than men do. But that’s no reason women can’t look and feel just as fabulous. Get your P90X workout on today, and before you know it you’ll be the hot chick that carries the body every woman wants!

Hi! My name is Katlyn and I tried P90X after my son wouldn’t stop talking about it. I’m 48 years old and a mother of 3. For the first 3 weeks of the P90X program I was doing pushups on my knees and dare not even try doing a single pullup. It was hard! Gradually, though, I began seeing an improvement in my performance and was able to actually do 10 pushups on my own. THis program is definitely extreme, for those who are looking into it. I thought because I saw other women on the infomercial that it would be cake. Think again. You have to work hard, but it pays off in time. I can’t believe that i’m actually doing pushups. I haven’t seen a big decrease in weight, to be honest. But I have seen a huge increase in lean muscle and toning. My legs have thinned out and my biceps have really taken shape. Tony Horton can be a bit annoying now and then but he pushes you hard. I recommend this program to anyone trying to get into tip-top shape quickly.
Great post. It was well written. Keep up the good work.
I love reading this and hearing what you think
Very good stuff.
