P90X Reviews: A Complete Review on the P90X Workout System

Do muscles ever get bored?

It is possible that, in the category of “things people tell you about working out that will make no sense,” you’ve heard somebody tell you that your muscles can get bored. We’ve actually heard it quite frequently. It usually sounds like this: “If you do the same exercises over and over again, your muscles will get bored, and you’ll stop seeing results.” We’re here to discuss this commonly held belief.

Firstly, as much as it may feel as though your muscles are in control of you instead of the other way around, your muscles are not their own individuals and do not have personalities. They will not get bored. You, however, may get bored if you’re repeating the same workout over and over again. When you get bored, you will, by nature, be putting less intensity and energy into your workouts. As a result, you’ll be seeing less in the way of results. So, while your muscles may not have gotten bored, the end result of your being slightly less mentally aware while you work out will, in fact, mean that your workout’s impact will decrease.

Secondly, it is true that in order to develop your muscles to their (and your) maximum potential, muscles need a variety of intensities, times of workouts and rest days. Doing bicep curls every day will not give you as balanced and healthy a physique as doing bicep curls one day, tricep extensions another day and back exercises on the third day. Doing all three of those exercises in the same day means that none of them are done to their maximum potential, which also won’t yield the same results as doing each exercise individually on a given day. So, it is true as well that there is value in creating a variety in your workout schedule.

Finally, as you go along with your workout, you’ll become stronger, increase in flexibility and lose weight. When this happens, you’ll be ready to take on additional challenges. Those challenges will be necessary in order to reach your maximum fitness potential. You will plateau without them. You’ll need to add weight, push further through your range of motion and intensify your cardio time and effort level. Ultimately, it’s true that if you don’t vary your workout, you won’t ever reach your best version of you.

Many of the top workouts on the market today ensure that you always have a variety and that the challenge level of your workout increases. As you read some of the P90X reviews on the internet, you’ll see that P90X keeps your muscle workouts mixed and increases the challenge level as you go along. So does the Insanity Workout and One on One with Tony Horton – which provides a new workout every month. If you’re looking for something with a slightly more “just starting to workout feel,” consider the Slim Series of workouts!
