However, we’ve never met a mom that didn’t want to be in great shape, and the reality of the situation is that the more physically healthy you are, the more energy you have for the rest of your life. In the case of a mother, that extra energy is important for being able to take care of the million other things that you’re responsible for! Read the rest of this entry »
10 Minute Trainer: Can 10 Minutes Make a Difference?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock where there is no fitness for the last several years, you’ve certainly heard of Tony Horton. He’s the guy who created the P90X workout as well as tons of other popular workouts. One of our favorite Tony Horton workouts is 10 Minute Trainer. That’s right. It’s a workout that you do in ten minutes. We recommend it for people who are crazy busy, who know that they don’t have the patience for a longer workout or who travel a lot. What is Muscle Memory?
You’ll often hear trainers, especially as you’re just starting to learn a workout, tell you to be patient if you’re feeling frustrated until you develop the right “muscle memory” for the workout. But what is muscle memory? And how can it help you?
If you’re a technical person, you may also have heard muscle memory called “motor memory.” It basically means that, through repetition, your muscles learn the pattern of a movement or series of movements. What is the Super Stacking Technique?
If you’ve ever done the 10 Minute Trainer workouts, then you’ve heard celebrity fitness expert Tony Horton tell you that the workouts involve an innovative concept he developed called Super Stacking. But what is Super Stacking, and can it make a workout that’s only ten minutes long give you results?
Super Stacking is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It’s stacking different types of workouts together into the same workout! Think of it like something you would normally stack! A sandwich. If you ate all of the parts of the sandwich separately (first the meat, then the cheese, then the bread), it would take you three times as long to eat as if all of those items were stacked together to make a sandwich. Same idea with the workouts! If you did three different workouts (a cardio workout, a sculpting workout and an abs workout), it would probably take you half an hour to get through all three segments. The 10-Minute Daily Habit
Here in the fitness industry, we hear a lot of people complain about the same problem: there is just not enough time in the day to squeeze in an exercise routine. No matter what your age or what your role is in life, we realize that just about everyone is extremely busy! It’s not as difficult to find an hour here or there throughout the week to exercise, but a daily routine can be much more difficult to find the time for. P90X and INSANITY Workout are both excellent workout programs that will surely bring promising results, but they both require about an hour of your time every single day.
